  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Lifestyle Buy Only What I Need
As you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/30/2022 1:04 PM
It can be a struggle but I am buying less
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does swapping out prepackaged snacks for fresh fruit or veggies benefit your family?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/26/2022 11:53 AM
Healthier snacks are better for the family
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Not sure what is worse- all the prescription medication I take or the plastic packaging that I can’t do much with other than throw it oit
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets Thrifty Pets
How does buying used differ from buying new? How does each purchasing decision make you feel?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/20/2022 1:02 PM
Buying used is cheaper and the pets aren’t going to know the difference
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle Natural Fibers
What are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/18/2022 5:40 PM
Clothes made from natural fibers will more easily break down
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Personal Care That Was a Close Shave
What have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/17/2022 9:36 AM
Steel razors are more expensive but more easily recycled. Disposable razors were inevitable in our society which craves convenience.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Minimize Packaging
With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/15/2022 5:38 PM
This challenge truly opened my eyes to the amount of single use plastic packaging in the grocery stores. I look for items in cardboard or glass packaging, but sometimes these items are more expensive. Cost can be a factor for many people especially in this time of rising prices.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Personal Care Donate Zero Waste Period Products
How can having access to zero waste period products help people who menstruate overcome barriers to education or other opportunities?

    Amy Abdai's avatar
    Amy Abdai 7/15/2022 5:33 PM
Girls in developing countries often drop out of school when their periods start. Reusable periods products help girls stay in school.
