I've seen a lot of beautiful butterflies in my garden recently.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care
Currently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?

    Kira Babiarz 7/27/2022 1:02 PM
By avoiding products that use plastic packaging and encoring others to do the same, we can slowly encourage companies to move toward non-plastic packaging.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care
Disposable tampons and menstrual pads are often quite expensive. What are the economic and personal benefits of this switch for you?

    Kira Babiarz's avatar
    Kira Babiarz 7/27/2022 12:56 PM
By switching from disposable period products, I'm saving almost $40 a month.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care
What have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?

    Kira Babiarz's avatar
    Kira Babiarz 7/27/2022 12:55 PM
By switching to steel razors I found my safe saving at the store, and in this day and age, every little bit helps.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family
Most of us know that the "3 R's" are reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycling is most heavily emphasized in modern Western culture. How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

    Kira Babiarz's avatar
    Kira Babiarz 7/27/2022 12:41 PM
I try to limit the amount of plastic items I purchase, as well as replace single-use plastics with reusable ones, and I make make sure to have a separate bin for recyclable items. Doing so makes me feel as if I having a large impact on the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Kira Babiarz's avatar
    Kira Babiarz 7/27/2022 12:38 PM
What concerns me the most is how many animals are quickly going extinct due to human actions.
