I had an event out of town and lots of food was left over.  I had to use plastic bags to take it home.  I try not to use them but didn’t want all that food to go to waste.

How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

Living in a safe community is important to people's general well being.  I pick up trash to make places safer and more enjoyable to spend time in.  It makes me sad when people throw trash and I wish more could be done to discourage people from doing it.

Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

Hi! I love spending time in nature to help me relax and tending a garden helps me do that.  It’s also fun finding ways to use the produce to make great meals!

I bought beeswax wraps to use on bowls and other leftovers instead of plastic wrap.

I bought the beeswax wraps at REI.  They were made in Vermont by beeswrap.com

Beeswax wrap instead of plastic wrap - wow, where did you get them?
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I chew gum to relieve boredom.  I will try to focus on a project or go for a walk instead

Rather than chewing gum, to relieve boredom, I want to eat - preferably chips!  Not a good thing -

I’ve had reusable produce bags for a while, but I always forget them.  I started putting them in my reusable grocery bags so I have a few with me all the time. It’s not perfect, but I’m on the road to making it a habit!
