One of the things I learned from this that I will carry over is the eco paint information. I recently purchased a home and looking into redoing the paint in certain areas. This lead me to a paint recycle program (PaintCare)we can implement or partner with in my profession as well.

I was surprised that Starbucks gave me a reusable cup. I was expecting. A disposable like always. I hadn’t planned to stop so I didn’t have my own cup with me. Now I keep this in my cars glove box for future use. Idk if this is at all Starbucks or just this location.

Lint roller alternative! I recently adopted another dog and was going through lint roll refills like crazy. I finally found something I don’t have to buy single use sheets for. I found it at a warehouse type thrift shop.

These are the safety razor blades we’ve been using for years and still haven’t made a dent in the box. Astra blades.

Take a moment to estimate how many disposable daily contacts you may have used over the years. What would be your impact now of switching to a contact brand with a longer lifespan?

I’ve been collecting my lenses for a while. I was on weekly lenses, but will ask for monthly pairs on my next visit. I try to keep my lens use because of the waste they create, both the lens and supplies needed to care for them.

This has been so fun! I’m glad to have kept up with it as long as I did. I found the best way for me to reduce my trips to the water cooler. Lol Larger water bottle!

Food waste. I’m terrible in the kitchen! Most of my waste is from fast food when I can’t dine in. When I try to cook at home I forget I have certain items and end up having to bin them.

Our kitchen reusable items. Most of them purchased second hand/thrift. Silicone bags, fruit covers, bowl covers, coffee sock.

The city beautification group focused on keeping litter off the streets. They also encourage those who “adopt” a section of the city to sort the litter between recycle and trash. It’s all volunteer run.
