REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleWas this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?
Mackenzie Clark 7/31/2022 6:12 PMEliminating single use plastics, only because they are everywhere and are so much more convenient and easier to access. I like throwing items away when I travel except I had to find something that was easy to clean and multi use. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Mackenzie Clark 7/31/2022 6:04 PMIt lets you freely show what you care about to others and become you’re own advocate on what you believe in. It’s the freedom to show awareness for something you care about and to show others as well. Who knows you may get them interested in that topic as well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleAs you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?
Mackenzie Clark 7/31/2022 6:03 PMI’ve started by buying food with less packaging even though most times it’s easier to buy something in a pack. I’ve also only limited to what ever I could fit in my two reusable bags when I buy groceries. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPetsWe know you want to - tell us about why your pet is so awesome!
Mackenzie Clark 7/31/2022 5:56 PMThe fact they’re all so cuddly and are always wanting attention. It’s the greatest way to be greeted by your pet loudly when you get home from work. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPetsHow could you reduce your waste even further (i.e. by making pet treats out of kitchen scraps or about-to-go-bad produce)?
Mackenzie Clark 7/28/2022 12:28 PMWe use scraps and will ball them together with a little bit of peanut butter in a ball form. Our dog loves them better than store-brand treats and does not give him an upset stomach. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamilyMost of us know that the "3 R's" are reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycling is most heavily emphasized in modern Western culture. How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Mackenzie Clark 7/27/2022 7:48 PMConstantly re-using my ice pack cooler everyday for work and other uses instead of the single use ones. It’s made of cloth instead of plastics and I use glass containers that are easily cleaned for another use. I also come in with a metal straw everyday with my drink instead of a new plastic one. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareTake a moment to estimate how many disposable daily contacts you may have used over the years. What would be your impact now of switching to a contact brand with a longer lifespan?
Mackenzie Clark 7/25/2022 1:06 PMI started off with daily’s once a day for contacts, and started transitioning to monthly’s so I didn’t have to switch the pair I was wearing every day. I also learned if I take care of my monthly’s correctly it can make their life span even longer.
