  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

    Catherine Delsol 7/26/2022 8:27 AM
They are cheaper and last longer than the liquid stuff in plastic containers. also, going to the refillery lets me use pretty glass containers for liquids.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Catherine Delsol's avatar
    Catherine Delsol 7/26/2022 8:25 AM
I knit tops and sweaters and jackets and skirts and dresses, even in summer weight linen and cotton.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle
What is the benefit of using bar soaps or refilling your travel sized containers? Is this an action you think you will keep in your life?

    Catherine Delsol's avatar
    Catherine Delsol 7/26/2022 8:22 AM
By using bar soaps and shampoos, I can take them with me in my carry on.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle
What did you learn about the waste you create? Where can you reduce the most?

    Catherine Delsol 7/26/2022 8:22 AM
Definitely single use plastic. but I also wish I had a convenient place to compost kitchen scraps. I don't have a garden, so I don't get a green bin.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family
How can you and your little one exercise your creativity without creating more plastic waste?

    Catherine Delsol 7/19/2022 8:34 AM
Do paper crafts. Paint. Press flowers and leaves

Greenhouse gas emissions and the melting of the ice caps
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care
Even though they are marketed as "flushable," disposable wipes do not disintegrate in water or the sewer system, and actually release microplastics into our waterways. How does it feel to learn this information? What do you want to do about it?

    Catherine Delsol's avatar
    Catherine Delsol 7/19/2022 8:32 AM
I got reusable makeup remover wipes that can be laundered
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

    Catherine Delsol's avatar
    Catherine Delsol 7/19/2022 8:28 AM
It drives me nuts when they sell herbs in those plastic shells. I refuse to buy those and go to a store where herbs are sold without plastic
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

    Catherine Delsol's avatar
    Catherine Delsol 7/19/2022 8:26 AM
I store everything in glass jars that are reusable
