Kelly Dillow 7/28/2022 7:30 AMI love reading all your posts and seeing what you've learned. We are almost done, keep up the good work! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat was your strategy in talking with your favorite restaurant's management? Did you find it to be effective?
Kelly Dillow 7/28/2022 7:16 AMI visit this restaurant all the time and their to go is in paper and with aluminum foil, so already doing better than most, but they plop that in a plastic bag with plastic cutlery (which I always ask them to skip). I simply asked them if they would consider asking customers if they wanted to cutlery or not as a starting point. -
Kelly Dillow 7/27/2022 9:08 AMThe OKC zoo has the highest average number of points per member for the top teams. Good job! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareWhat are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?
Kelly Dillow 7/27/2022 6:25 AMI have not looked into it, but there may potentially be benefits just from not putting plastic into your mouth daily. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPetsIn what ways does your pet make your life happier, more interesting, or more rewarding?
Kelly Dillow 7/26/2022 5:27 AMI could write a novel about this so I will just say that anytime people say they want children I ask them if they have just considered dogs instead? They will snuggle till their dying day, they always love you, and my dog has never slammed a door. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPetsIn what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?
Kelly Dillow 7/25/2022 6:16 AMThis has been an interesting one for me b/c my dog does not like the all natural pet toys I purchased at all, so it just feels like a waste of money. Much better was getting used toys (he almost exclusively likes stuffed animals). I think I could also just buy actual children's stuffed animals from Goodwill. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPetsHow does buying used differ from buying new? How does each purchasing decision make you feel?
Kelly Dillow 7/25/2022 5:51 AMI didn't actually buy new, just begged used dog toys from friends and family. Dog toys can add up as an expense so I felt great getting them for free and also not purchasing something new. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareHow can you advocate for the importance of reducing packaging to the rest of your friends, family and larger community?
Kelly Dillow 7/23/2022 6:31 AMI think taking opportunities for having conversation about the plastic crisis whenever it comes up. -
Kelly Dillow 7/22/2022 11:41 AMGuys we closed the gap between us and Starbucks by 1k points in one day!!! Keep it up and we can beat them! -
Kelly Dillow 7/22/2022 6:49 AMFriday means the weekend for some of us, which is a great reminder to not forget that one way to reduce plastic (and resources) is to simply do less. I hope if you're getting time off this weekend you're getting to relax!
