Callie's actions
Lifestyle
Ditch Dryer Sheets
I will use wool dryer balls or another plastic-free alternative to dryer sheets to keep my clothes static-free.
Food
Choose Reusable Food Storage
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Use Reusables at Work
I will use reusable dishes and silverware when eating at work.
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 5 piece(s) of litter each day.
Food
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.
Food
Skip Plastic Bags
When possible, I will not use disposable bags when shopping, including produce bags.
Food
Fill a Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodSince the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?
Callie Erwin 7/05/2022 4:25 PMIn the mornings I help cut down on using disposable cups by brewing my own cold brew coffee at home and using one of my many travel mugs. Even at work when I go to the food court I use my own reusable cup for soda so I can avoid using non-recyclable wax paper cups and straws. I make sure I always keep a reusable cup at my desk or in my locker for this purpose. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Callie Erwin 7/05/2022 3:40 PMThankfully using reusable bags when shopping, especially for groceries, was a pretty easy switch since I now do most of my shopping at Aldi. The real challenge was making sure I didn't forget them so I make sure I always have a stash in my car and set the ones I use by the door after I unpack them so I remember to take them back out next time I leave the house.
