Dig into Bioplastics
I will spend at least 15 minutes researching the impacts of bioplastics and how to properly dispose of them in my city, and I will share this information with 5 friends, family, and/or colleagues.

I will lobby my workplace to have reusable dishes and silverware in order to minimize disposables.

Join a Cleanup Effort
I will host or participate in a beach, highway, river, or other cleanup effort in my community that follows the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.
Food
Use Reusables at Work
I will use reusable dishes and silverware when eating at work.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

bridget farrow rodriquez 7/08/2022 12:43 PMEven though the first week is done, I will still try to continue doing the new actions that I started for this challenge while continuing my previous actions that I was already doing before we started this challenge. I wish everyone the best of luck with their efforts! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
bridget farrow rodriquez 7/08/2022 12:39 PMIt makes me feel good. I am satisfied with the effort that my family, my neighbors and I put towards the "Pick Up Party." We even left bags in spots throughout the community that we will go back and try to collect. We also had fun and ate healthy snacks while doing the pick up. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat did you learn about bioplastic production and disposal? Did anything surprise you? Are bioplastics accepted by your city's waste management?
bridget farrow rodriquez 7/03/2022 5:44 PMBio-plastics are made from renewable materials and partially some plants. They can be broken down completely into water. Bio-degradablity
of bio-plastics need high temperatures. Recyclable materials are BANNED from disposal in Wisconsin. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat are some of the cases you could make to an employer for why switching to durable dishes and utensils is actually in their best interest as well?
bridget farrow rodriquez 7/03/2022 5:16 PMWe would have less trash to empty out by the end of the day/week. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIt is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?
bridget farrow rodriquez 7/03/2022 5:06 PMBuy reusable tumblers and decorate/personalize them for my family, co-workers and other people I know in the community.
