M&M's actions
Lifestyle
KEEP IT UPCYCLE
Post to our Team APE feed about an item that you "upcycled" or "creatively reused" and thereby avoided consuming plastic associated with buying a new item and having that item sent to you/your area!
Food
Cook a Plastic Free Meal
I will prepare meals at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
Food
Choose Reusable Food Storage
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Lifestyle
Travel Eating
If traveling, I will bring my own snacks and meals in my own containers to avoid the waste of take-out containers.
Lifestyle
Buy Only What I Need
I will not buy anything except items required for health and safety.
Food
Advocate For Better Food Packaging
I will advocate for alternatives to single use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, or work.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.

M&M G 7/08/2022 5:57 PMSome things we do when we go out for a meal or even pick up a meal:
1) Take our one-time use plastics free bag with reusable items such as utensils, straws, chop sticks and a tiffin can(s) to take leftovers in (vs plastic containers or plastic coated paper boxes from the restaurant)**
2) If don't have our tiffin cans w/us, we ask for either aluminum foil/pans or paper (not plastic coated) to wrap our leftovers in. Aluminum foil is completely biodegradable (albeit may use more CO2 to fabricate and ship vs plastic due to the processing and weight).
3) We even have restaurants use our cans for just cooked food. Many restaurants are sensitive to the plastic issue and are glad to use our clean cans instead of their one-time use plastic/plastic coated boxes that also costs them. It's funny sometimes to see the cooks and how they react to them.
**The tiffin cans many times are great conversation starters about the use of one time use plastic and how not to use it! The cans are nice and shiny that help shine a beacon on the plastic issue.
