REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Emily Hague 7/12/2022 2:26 PMImmediately after visiting Life Unplastic for the first time, I ended up at my regular store Aldi. Everything is wrapped in plastic, even the vegetables! It was also difficult finding cartons of items that didn't have a plastic twist top. I also found that some items at Publix which promoted compostable cartons or sustainable practices, but cost more for less than you would get with a typical company. Or, they would promote green cosmetic items but be in plastic cases. It's a bit overwhelming. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareWhat are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?
Emily Hague 7/06/2022 4:20 PMPersonally, I have been awful with leaving empty bottles inside my shower, so to have shelf space again by itself is a huge advantage.
My body wash is now in a cute kombucha glass bottle. I switched over to a creamy lemon shampoo and conditioner bar, and at least for my curly short hair, it lathered really nicely! They fit perfectly side by side on my soap dish. So much roooom! -
