What did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?

The calculator was very easy to use, but I can't say I loved the results. I thought my skin, hair and makeup routines are very plastic-dependent with bottles and containers all containing plastic, but as it turns out, it is my grocery store trips that generate the most plastic from my lifestyle! This is disappointing and hard to combat when the store in my neighborhood does not carry bulk items, which is the #1 recommendation from zero-waste champions. I think also dietary changes away from cheese/dairy and meat would help as well, as those are the most heavily plastic-packaged items I buy when at the grocery, and also have a larger footprint on the environment in general.

Way to go Hillary, your action inspired me to take this footprint, too.  I was so surprised by my footprint ):

Plant based diets do appear to be better for plastic consumption, the planet and our health!
