Linda's actions
Community
Estimate My Plastic Consumption
I will visit the rePurpose website, complete the 3-minute plastic consumption calculator, and explore how I can reBalance my annual plastic footprint.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors.
Food
Cook a Plastic Free Meal
I will prepare meals at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
Community
Say No to Styrofoam
Throughout its life cycle, polystyrene (styrofoam) can harm people, communities, and the planet. I will refuse styrofoam whenever I can, making sure to kindly let people know why I'm asking for alternative packaging.
Personal Care
Say No to "Flushable Wipes"
Wipes don't break down in sewer systems, but combine with fat to create massive clogs. I will find alternatives to using disposable wipes.
Pets
Homemade Pet Food
I will prepare my own pet food to avoid plastic packaging.

Linda Keller 7/05/2022 12:08 PMLove to let others know about recycling any plastic bags they might have. Also, I always carry reusable bags with me - have shared with others who are still using plastic at the grocery store. -
Linda Keller 7/05/2022 12:00 PMI always take my own grocery bags and for the few times I need to use a plastic bag (leaking meat package), I recycle them at the grocery stores. Most of the stores I go to have recycle bins for plastic bags now. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareWhat have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?
