Ditch Dryer Sheets
I will use wool dryer balls or another plastic-free alternative to dryer sheets to keep my clothes static-free.

Natural Fibers
When available, I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers.

Hilary Loewenstein 7/31/2022 5:13 PMToday I was at a festival. Any time I purchased any trinkets I used my own reusable shopping bag to put them in. The sellers were happy because they didn’t have to give me a bag and I was happy to create less waste! -
Hilary Loewenstein 7/31/2022 5:10 PMI have really enjoyed this ecochallenge. It was at the forefront of my mind every day. Not only how can I reduce plastics, but really how can I make my footprint smaller in generating trash. Many of my new habits will stick with me. For example: I am using Dryer balls, no more straws or plastic lids, reusable baggies, no more detergent pods, no more plastic produce bags or plastic bags in general, refilling my hand soap, and repurposing things I might have thrown away before. The eco-challenge has changed me for the better. And I am grateful. Thank you for this opportunity! I look forward to next year!-

Hilary Loewenstein 7/30/2022 5:27 AMNot only do I not use straws anymore when I get fast food I do not use the plastic top that goes over the cup. Seems like a waste especially when I’m going to eat in the restaurant. Not that difficult to make subtle shifts -
Hilary Loewenstein 7/29/2022 5:39 AMIt’s amazing to me how quickly servers want to give you straws. Often they put them on the table and even though I refuse them they may have to throw them away. I’m having to tell the server as soon as they take my order “no straws” just to ensure they don’t bring one.-

Hilary Loewenstein 7/28/2022 5:39 AMI am traveling and while I brought my reusable shopping bags I forgot my produce bags! I was disappointed in my self as I had to get a few plastic produce bags. However I will at least reuse them as trash can liners here. -
Hilary Loewenstein 7/26/2022 4:22 PMNo more paper plates and disposable plastic cups for me anymore! -
Hilary Loewenstein 7/25/2022 3:47 PMToday I refused the plastic bag they give you at the dentist. The one that has toothpaste, toothbrush, floss. The dentist looked at me funny but I feel good about it! 🦷 -
Hilary Loewenstein 7/24/2022 1:19 PMI have ditched all plastic water bottles and only use reusable bottles now -
Hilary Loewenstein 7/23/2022 12:09 PMReusing my tin foil. Realizing how easy it is to reuse things I normally threw away 😁
