REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Dina Lomagno 7/26/2022 8:49 AMI've noticed the cashiers and baggers really don't maximize packing efforts but I'm happy to say that my local grocery store now charges for bags and only offers recyclable paper options. They also offer reusable bags which I have purchased and use now, they hold more and don't break and I don't have to worry about storage or waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareHow can you advocate for the importance of reducing packaging to the rest of your friends, family and larger community?
Dina Lomagno 7/26/2022 8:46 AMUtilizing glass bottles and recyclable materials is something I now check on the packaging for. Has made me more aware of the waste that i was contributing to. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleWas this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?
Dina Lomagno 7/25/2022 8:56 AMPacked my own meals in glass containers and took in a cooler so we didn't have to waste foods/plasticware. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Dina Lomagno 7/22/2022 9:08 AMMy group LV Backyard Gardeners has been great with sharing ideas on how to make my garden more green especially with the water shortage we have, also with natural remedies for pest/fertilizer solutions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareDo some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?
Dina Lomagno 7/21/2022 3:00 PMI haven't had any side effects but my concern after reading all the information has risen enough for me to make a decision for both myself and husband. We now purchase from a local place that makes eco friendly and non harmful natural products. We bring the glass containers in when we are done, they wash and sanitize and refill. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareWhat have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?
Dina Lomagno 7/21/2022 2:58 PMI think the disposable razors were created for travel convenience but have realized now that I use refillable ones that are steel that I have less waste and it's more consistent. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamilyWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Dina Lomagno 7/20/2022 3:00 PMNightly walks have become a constant for us and we are making an impact by grabbing plastic and such for recycling. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamilyHow can you take your commitment to sustainable living beyond yourself and your family? How can you, personally, work toward broader change?
Dina Lomagno 7/19/2022 9:42 AMI purchased glass bottles for a few of my gym friends to try out and they love it, also has opened their mind to possibly changing some personal options at their own home.
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
