This action was easy for me.   I saved money and had more time to explore and relax
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Kathleen Monroe's avatar
    Kathleen Monroe 7/31/2022 7:18 PM
Using accessories that I have in my closet with different outfits helps to create different looks with my existing clothes       Shopping your closet is always an adventure.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets
In what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?

Keeping the chemicals out of my pets system is a big concern for me and by using natural materials we also reduce overall consumption of chemicals.

This year was a little tougher to keep up with the challenge but still educational for me and gave me ideas of how to improve my efforts

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets
How does buying used differ from buying new? How does each purchasing decision make you feel?

    Kathleen Monroe's avatar
    Kathleen Monroe 7/31/2022 6:41 PM
Buying used allows another life for the item and a reduction of gas use for new product moving to a store to replenish inventory.  It makes me feel proud that i make a small contribution to reducing emissions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
What was your strategy in talking with your favorite restaurant's management? Did you find it to be effective?

    Kathleen Monroe's avatar
    Kathleen Monroe 7/31/2022 6:38 PM
Discussing the cost and environmental benefits of using recycled products as well as the improved opinions the public will have of the restaurant for taking positive steps to change their plastic use.     This was well received and a promise was made for the management to share these thoughts with other restaurants and work toward change
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle
What are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?

    Kathleen Monroe's avatar
    Kathleen Monroe 7/31/2022 6:30 PM
Natural fibers do not shed chemicals when they are laundered and helps to keep chemicals out of the water systems helping protect animals from the dangers of chemicals
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family
What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

    Kathleen Monroe's avatar
    Kathleen Monroe 7/31/2022 6:20 PM
The biggest concern I have is how we are polluting our oceans and how the trash is making it past all the checks and programs that are currently in place.  They need to be improved and expanded     We are more water than land and if upgrades to the filtration systems are not made by local government than we will lose what clean areas we have

Rosie has brought fun and laughter back to our house after some stressful times with our previous dog.    It’s been a great distraction and challenge to have a puppy in the house again- and see her explore the world and rediscover her tail every couple days.
