Share My Actions
I will make my environmental actions visible by posting to my social media networks.
Community
Give Some Green Gratitude
I will give a shout-out on social media to a local company, coworker, friend or family member for their plastic free or green efforts.
Personal Care
Green Beauty
When it's time to buy more, I will replace my beauty products with refillable, sustainable, and/or DIY options.
Personal Care
Say No to "Flushable Wipes"
Wipes don't break down in sewer systems, but combine with fat to create massive clogs. I will find alternatives to using disposable wipes.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Food
Go Strawless
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own reusable straw.
Lifestyle
Natural Fibers
When available, I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers.
Community
Watch a Plastic themed documentary.
Watch film "Smog of the Sea" to learn more about the impact of plastic in our oceans. Be inspired by the unique crew and see that anyone can make a difference.
Community
Host a Watch Party
I will host a watch party with friends and/or colleagues to watch and discuss a movie about plastics.
Community

Lisa McColgan 7/26/2022 6:34 AMMy favorite grocery store has loose produce, which is good. But some is still in vacuum wrap, like broccoli. I guess that keeps it safer. I'll ask next time I go. -
Lisa McColgan 7/11/2022 5:18 AMTraveling to our vacation home, I pack breakfast and lunch in reusable containers. We bring our own drinks and only stop at rest areas and for gas. -
Lisa McColgan 7/03/2022 5:20 AMStopped wearing soft contacts and switched to glasses. Also am using washable storage containers almost exclusively. Not sure what to use for freezer storage yet, any suggestions? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareEven though they are marketed as "flushable," disposable wipes do not disintegrate in water or the sewer system, and actually release microplastics into our waterways. How does it feel to learn this information? What do you want to do about it?
