Take a moment to estimate how many disposable daily contacts you may have used over the years. What would be your impact now of switching to a contact brand with a longer lifespan?

I have never used daily contacts. I have always used monthly contacts. I do my best to make them last as long as I can. I have been using my current pair for about 3 months now. Not only does it help minimize the amount of waste I produce, it also saves me a significant amount of money.

Debra - for some reason it won't let me reply directly to you. My contacts are supposed to be switched out monthly. I get a year supply when I order from my eye doctor. This pair has lasted me about 3 months. I don't recommend wearing them much longer than that as they do get dry but its given me 3 more months of not having to purchase new contacts!

How long are disposable contacts good for. I wear glasses and I haven’t converted to contacts.  Yet anyway

Even though they are marketed as "flushable," disposable wipes do not disintegrate in water or the sewer system, and actually release microplastics into our waterways. How does it feel to learn this information? What do you want to do about it?

Learning this information is helpful but also slightly frustrating...knowing that companies can market items as something they are not is not a comforting feeling. My father and I had a conversation the other day about how no wipes are really flushable wipes. They are bad for environment and your plumbing system even if they are labeled "flushable". I will never be purchasing them and will make an effort to find a more sustainable option. In addition, I would like to spread this information to those that I know use these.
