Andrea Pallotta 7/25/2022 6:46 AMHi everyone! It's the last week of our challenge! Please share what you've learned and post your favorite new plastic free or reduced plastic activities/products/etc. I can't wait to see what you found!-
Janet Wu 7/26/2022 6:13 AMSwitching to the farm share has been the easiest change for me! Cuts down on plastic and trips to the grocery. If you wear contacts, check out terracycle.com to find a free recycling location. You can recycle contacts AND blister packs.

Andrea Pallotta 7/19/2022 8:05 AMI did it! I contacted my state representative and state senator to ask about what they are doing on a state wide level to address climate change and sustainability!!!
What are you working on this week? Are there any actions that you haven't done yet for the month? What are they and what is tough about completing them? -
Andrea Pallotta 7/15/2022 4:45 AMI picked "community PICK UP THE PHONE - I will make 1 phone call(s) per day to a public official or company to advocate for planet-friendly policies" as one of my actions. I have not made any calls yet!!! Going to call my township trustees this weekend and request that Richfield Township become a "Power a Clean Future Ohio" city - just like Cuyahoga Falls! (https://www.poweracleanfuture.org/)
Over 30 cities in Ohio are in the coalition, including Northeast Ohio cities Cleveland, Lakewood, Shaker Heights and Euclid, Canton and Youngstown.
Consider contacting your city government leaders to take the next step!

Andrea Pallotta 7/13/2022 5:19 AMCheck out Cuyahogarecycles.org for details on recycling in your community. Find out what can be recycled from the curbside pick up and what cannot. Subscribe to their newsletter for the latest information. Not a Cuyahoga county resident, check out www.rumpke.com/for-your-home/recycling for some Summit County residents or recyclemedinacounty.com/ for Medina county residents. -
Andrea Pallotta 7/11/2022 5:31 AMI found a new app to help determine how long food is good for - Food Keeper. The FoodKeeper helps you understand food and beverages storage. It will help you maximize the freshness and quality of items. By doing so you will be able to keep items fresh longer than if they were not stored properly. It was developed by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, with Cornell University and the Food Marketing Institute.
Check it out to help reduce waste and improve your storage!-
Megan Smith 7/11/2022 6:37 AMThis is an awesome app! I've always wondered about expiration dates if the product was "never opened." Thanks for sharing!
