Alison's actions
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors.
Food
Skip Plastic Bags
When possible, I will not use disposable bags when shopping, including produce bags.
Food
Fill a Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Community
Say No to Styrofoam
Throughout its life cycle, polystyrene (styrofoam) can harm people, communities, and the planet. I will refuse styrofoam whenever I can, making sure to kindly let people know why I'm asking for alternative packaging.
Food
Better Gum
I will give up gum or choose gum made from chicle or other plastic-free gum bases.
Food
Go Strawless
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own reusable straw.
Food
Switch to Loose Leaf Tea
Because many tea bags and most sleeves and sachets contain plastic, I will switch to using loose leaf tea.
Lifestyle
Ditch Dryer Sheets
I will use wool dryer balls or another plastic-free alternative to dryer sheets to keep my clothes static-free.
Lifestyle
Use a Reusable Cup at Starbucks
Use a reusable cup for your Starbucks beverage.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Alison Perreault 7/18/2022 3:19 PMOver 1/2 way through the month! Looking to finish strong. I will have my re- usable cup with me at work this week and will work with others to use their own cup as well. -
Alison Perreault 7/05/2022 1:40 PM5 days in and I have had zero gum! I had stopped chewing gum back in 2015 and then about 6 months ago picked it back up, forgetting about the plastic component. This challenge has reminded me of this and I am looking to ditch gum again and anytime I may want it then picking an alternative that is part of a sustainable future. -
Alison Perreault 6/29/2022 4:33 PMJust bought a new box of Wool Dryer Balls to get ready for July 1st! #ditchthedryersheets
