Join a Cleanup Effort
I will host or participate in a beach, highway, river, or other cleanup effort in my community that follows the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.

Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodSince the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?
Rachel Shaffer 7/28/2022 6:14 AMIt's cheaper to make coffee at home than to buy it on the way to work. I have several fun tumblers that I like to put my morning coffee into each morning -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodDo an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?
Rachel Shaffer 7/28/2022 6:12 AMI use microwavable and dishwasher safe tupperware every day to reduce single use plastics. Fresh produce is still stored in a single-use plastic bag, but once food is gone I hold onto the bag and don't use a twist tie to seal the food. If I could find a way to get fresh produce without having to use a plastic bag, that would greatly help
