Today I made a plastic-free all-purpose cleaner through the workshop held in our classrooms. It was really cool learning the different things you can do, like adding a drop of dish soap for windows and lemon peels to mask vinegar scent!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

I think a good way to advocate for less plastic usage when it comes to disposable utensils is to encourage companies to include an optional silverware/straw/napkins button when ordering preorders. These buttons allow you to let places know that you don't need their utensils and have your own. Not only does it prevent unnecessary plastic usage, but this can also save the company money as they aren't wasting product on those who don't need it.

It seems some larger corporations like Chipotle already have this option, but it's a great option to encourage if somewhere doesn't have it yet.
