Switch to Loose Leaf Tea

Because many tea bags and most sleeves and sachets contain plastic, I will switch to using loose leaf tea.

Use Cloth Diapers

I will replace single use diapers with reusable cloth diapers.

COMPLETED

Thoughtful Toys

Say No to Styrofoam

Throughout its life cycle, polystyrene (styrofoam) can harm people, communities, and the planet. I will refuse styrofoam whenever I can, making sure to kindly let people know why I'm asking for alternative packaging.

Cook a Plastic Free Meal

I will prepare meals at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.

Terracycle Pet Food Bags

Take empty pet food and treat bags to a local pet store for terracycle program. In order to reduce landfill waste, I save up my pet food bags and take them in to the collection box periodically.

It's nice to be able to have less waste by filling in supplies one household alone may not be able to finish while they're fresh and another may not have had access to. It sets up a good, caring community and builds relationships.
