REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?
Carmen White 7/19/2022 1:24 PMI use washable containers for most of my lunch and travel foods. When I need to use disposable, I normally wrap food in wax paper or aluminum foil. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Carmen White 7/19/2022 1:21 PMThere is an abundance of it! Packages within packages… I buy bulk when I can. Larger volumes with fewer individual packages inside. I also look for recyclable or non plastic containers when possible. -
Carmen White 7/09/2022 2:01 PMSometimes it is impossible to avoid plastic. I went to a concert last night and they wouldn’t allow water bottles, even empty. They sold single portion bottles, and then made you pour the water into a plastic cup. So instead of no plastic, I had one bottle and two cups! So dumb. I plan to voice my concerns on this. A place this big could have a huge impact on plastics, and right now it is a negative one.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodSince the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?
Carmen White 7/09/2022 1:57 PMI take empty reusable bottles into venues and fill them up when I get there if at all possible.
