Picking up litter allows me the opportunity to see what are the most commonly improperly disposed of items within that particular area. I become more informed on what types of products people are using, (lots of plastic and styrofoam).

I stayed in a hotel last evening and was alarmed at the amount of styrofoam cups being used at breakfast, the entire hotel business needs updated sustainability, this is something I’d like to research more.

Today I picked up litter at J.N. (Preacher) Copeland Park, a nearby park I frequent that features a ballpark with a concession stand. Although not visited often, there is still residual trash leftover from games or people in the parking lots. My goal was 20 pieces of trash per day, but it was hard to stop myself when I saw another litter. I am ready to return.
