REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Lauren Whitehurst 7/26/2022 8:20 AMPicking up litter allows me the opportunity to see what are the most commonly improperly disposed of items within that particular area. I become more informed on what types of products people are using, (lots of plastic and styrofoam). -
Lauren Whitehurst 7/24/2022 5:19 AMI stayed in a hotel last evening and was alarmed at the amount of styrofoam cups being used at breakfast, the entire hotel business needs updated sustainability, this is something I’d like to research more. -
Lauren Whitehurst 7/22/2022 7:35 AMToday I picked up litter at J.N. (Preacher) Copeland Park, a nearby park I frequent that features a ballpark with a concession stand. Although not visited often, there is still residual trash leftover from games or people in the parking lots. My goal was 20 pieces of trash per day, but it was hard to stop myself when I saw another litter. I am ready to return.-
Joanna Caputa 7/22/2022 12:25 PMLauren that is awesome! I can relate to you not wanting to stop picking up litter when you get on a roll!!! You go girl!
