REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareWhat have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:46 PMIt has always been more convenient to purchase plastic razors since they are more accessible from the store, companies also made more profits off of disposables. There is no need for the plastic throw away razors.. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal CareHow can having access to zero waste period products help people who menstruate overcome barriers to education or other opportunities?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:47 AMI think if we learn about reusable mental products a young age we become more comfortable with thrm and wity taking about them to others. It becomes something we are use to and disposals are not someone we use. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPetsWe know you want to - tell us about why your pet is so awesome!
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:42 AMAww! Love this question. We rescued our pup 2 and a half years ago. He is older and was hurt when we rescued him but has been thr perfect dog for our family. He is sweet, gentle, and playful. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleHow easy was this swap for you? Did you have any concerns before making it?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:40 AMSwitching soaps to bars was a hard swap. The bubbles I thought I needed gave me lots of challenges - am I really getting these clean? But it has been a learning process and a good switch going from bottles with dish soap, shampoo and such to bars for everything to lessen our plastic consumption.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleWhat did you learn about the waste you create? Where can you reduce the most?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:38 AMFor my family, dog food is one area we can cut back. Looking for ways to not purchase dog food in plastic coated bags. I have not done any research on this but feel that it is a step I can take moving forward. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:37 AMI was surprised how much we have decreased it from last year to this year. I still have a ways to go but always working to improve!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:33 AMFood courts supply a large amount of plastic utensils and containers. We can advocate for reusable utensils. If the mall collected rain water and then used that to have a steam cleaner for utensils we could have a small reusable utensil area and get rid of the plastic utensils supplied. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleWhat are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:29 AMLess plastic in our environment, many microplastics are put into clothing and they add to thr plastic problem we have in our world. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyleWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Jessica Wilhite 7/30/2022 6:25 AMThe facts that after research my husband and I learned that we have microplastics in our blood. Scares me from what we are putting in our body and in our children's body.
