While running around today we made a point to not bring plastic bottles in the car.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family
Most of us know that the "3 R's" are reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycling is most heavily emphasized in modern Western culture. How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I’ll start by saying that I know little about bicycle parts and repair. A friend of my son was riding my son’s bike and he accidentally snapped a “do-thingy-wha-cha-ma-call-it”(and yes…that’s a real part). Normally I would have just purchased a new bike for him and the old one would have probably ended up in a landfill.
Instead, I watched a few videos, bought the parts and repaired it myself. Felt good to know that we prolonged the years that bike will last. When we’re done with it, we’ll donate it to a needy child too.
