Took the opportunity, prompted by a fellow Plastic Free Little Rock (PFLR) member, to review efforts in Arkansas to cut down on single use plastic bags and to put in place a bottle deposit program.  The plastic bag initiative was in operation in Fayetteville by 2019 and Little Rock was looking at a pragmatic and thoughtful adaptation of...

Definitely made me more aware of daily actions and ways I can improve - little by little - making it a new habit.

More time planning and meal preparations. Re-usable containers and bees wrap cloths are my go-to. Thermos for soups.

This hopefully gets you the...

Realizing that the Trex company has a highly successful model for recycling plastic film to make its deck material, I looked into what film products a grocery store such as Kroger takes in the bag bins at the store.  I found this .pdf - will try to add image - for the Kroger program that includes almost all the Trex list.  I did not realize...

I purchased silk dental floss, ( lace as they call it), with my points from A Drop in the Ocean. It comes in a refillable glass container with a metal top- yea plastic free!

Trying to understand what type(s) of plastic film local grocery stores might take along with plastic grocery bags - plan to track down the answers.  Don’t want to be one of those “hopeful” recyclers that just hopes what goes in the bin can be recycled - but may actually cause more problems than help.
