I will replace my plastic toothbrush with a bamboo toothbrush.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors.
Community
Say No to Styrofoam
Throughout its life cycle, polystyrene (styrofoam) can harm people, communities, and the planet. I will refuse styrofoam whenever I can, making sure to kindly let people know why I'm asking for alternative packaging.
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 100 piece(s) of litter each day.
Food
Go Strawless
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own reusable straw.
Food
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 3 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.
Food
Fill a Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 4 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

Candy Colonna 7/31/2022 10:08 AMThere are some things I’m just not there yet like making detergent and using soap for shampoo. Maybe one day. -
Candy Colonna 7/28/2022 7:57 AMThere is a lot of interesting reading on this site! I was shocked to learn only 10% of donated items actually get sold and the rest is sent to landfills or overseas! This makes me really think twice before I purchase anything knowing that when it’s no longer bringing me joy and I turn it into a rag I am only adding to our landfill problem. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Support a Sharing EconomyWhat are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?
Candy Colonna 7/21/2022 7:13 AMI pick up linens being disposed of by a hotel. They have all been cleaned but may show spots. Sometimes it’s just because the hotel is changing suppliers. I donate along with a group of women to area shelters for bedding, cleaning,. That way the articles can be used until too nasty to wash anymore. Saves a ton of material waste.
