Plastic production, not just disposal, pollutes communities and harms people. I will learn about the impacts of plastic production on humans, animals, communities, and the environment.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Say No to Styrofoam

Throughout its life cycle, polystyrene (styrofoam) can harm people, communities, and the planet. I will refuse styrofoam whenever I can, making sure to kindly let people know why I'm asking for alternative packaging.

I will pick up 10 piece(s) of litter each day.

COMPLETED 26

Went to Palisades State Park for the first time. I ended up picking up 77 pieces on trash just by walking two of their trails. It felt very good to know I was cleaning up the environment, so others would not have to see all the trash.

I am super excited about how well we are doing again this year. We are #29 out of 301 teams. I think if we keep working hard, we can make to the top 25!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Plastic Free July challenge so far. Remember, this is about realizing your own plastic waste contribution and trying to make conscious choices to minimize that waste. What are you choosing to work on this year?
