REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Sustainable Suds: Pet EditionIn what ways does your pet make your life happier, more interesting, or more rewarding?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/31/2022 7:00 AMMy pet is the best. He is my best friend that's always there. He loves to be around me and other people, so he's been a big part of my social life which has bonded us more. Having a dog makes life so much better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use a Reusable MugSince the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/31/2022 6:57 AMI have achieved this by bringing my own coffee to me with places. I have tried to eliminate the morning stop for coffee all together. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily Swap the SnacksHow does swapping out prepackaged snacks for fresh fruit or veggies benefit your family?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/31/2022 6:56 AMIt takes a little bit of preparation, but having cut up veggies and fruit in the fridge ready to go for snacks has saved me time and money. It's been a great way to reduce my waste production and also utilize the groceries I buy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/31/2022 6:53 AMI take pride in my neighborhood. Picking up trash while on walks with my dog and joining a comminute "green-team" group has helped me to meet other likeminded people. It's been fun to get to know them and work on goals to keep my community clean. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Travel EatingWas this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/28/2022 7:13 AMI found this action pretty easy to change. With a little bit of planning, I was able to pack a snack for my hike without just grabbing a bar wrapped in plastic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Ditch Dryer SheetsOften, single-use and disposable products don't just create more trash - they also contain toxins that are bad for humans. What are some other single-use items that are harmful to humans?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/28/2022 7:07 AMUsing dryer balls hasn’t been too much of a change for me. I feel that they still do a great job. It was an easy swap for me!-
Emily Katzin 7/28/2022 11:49 AMWe got our wool dryer balls 4-5 years ago and love them! I can be sensitive to different scents, so I had no concerns with our clean clothes having none. We also don't have issues with static and the dryer balls feel like they will still last for a long time to come.

Libbey Oreskovich 7/28/2022 7:05 AMI’m being more conscious about what I purchase and use, however I am finding it very challenging to go completely plastic free in some areas. I’m using my own bags at the grocery store and for produce. What many of my products come in have lots of plastic, which is unfortunately out of my control. I have replaced a few of my household items like dryer sheets and I now use a bar of soap vs body wash. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/16/2022 1:35 PMFinding that making sure to pack my reusable silverware in my lunch is getting easier to remember. Even when it's not clean, I wrap my own silverware in a towel and pack that instead of grabbing plastic utensils at work . -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care A Sustainable FlowDisposable tampons and menstrual pads are often quite expensive. What are the economic and personal benefits of this switch for you?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/16/2022 1:30 PMMade more of an effort to use my menstrual cup instead of one time use period products. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Estimate My Plastic ConsumptionWhat did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?
Libbey Oreskovich 7/11/2022 5:26 AMIt was kind of eye opening to really calculate how much plastic I really use. I consider myself pretty conscious of the products I buy, however, I do buy a lot of things for beauty and home. Definitely a reminder for me to seek alternative options for restocking.
