My mom lives in a senior  living place. They   waste so much paper, etc.
I called and asked if we could talk about ways they could  make some changes.

The LA County Dept. of Public Works is still offering its series of free webinars to beautify your home and garden during through September 2022. The Smart Gardening Webinars are approximately 45 minutes long followed by a 15-minute period to answer questions and take orders for compost bins. For those who are unable to attend, they have posted videos of the sessions. There are four core subjects being offered:

Intro to Composting: Learn about backyard and worm composting to create a rich soil amendment to nourish your garden.

Water-wise Gardening: Create a beautiful drought-tolerant landscape and learn about grasscycling to fortify your lawn.

Organic Gardening: Build healthy soil, grow herbs and vegetables, and address plant pests and diseases using organic methods.

Small-space Gardening: Learn to grow plants in containers and set up a small-space worm composting system.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I have become aware of the use of packaging from this challenge. Now, if it has excess package I think about is there another item similar with less or can i re-purpose some of the excess.

Our zoo is a great example of using repurposed items.Do you know about the shed where you can donate a lot of items the Learning and Engagement  have?

I love all the special events companies put on by the zoo! It introduces a lot of people who do not come to the zoo to learn about it and to motivate them to return. But, not the caterers fault after there is  food waste.I think after the event the workers and volunteers should be offered the left overs.
