Elizabeth's actions
Personal Care
Eco Deodorant
I will switch to a plastic-free deodorant — whether purchased or DIY'd.
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 5 piece(s) of litter each day.
Pets
Homemade Pet Treats
I will prepare my own pet treats to avoid plastic packaging.
Community
Learn about Plastic Production
Plastic production, not just disposal, pollutes communities and harms people. I will learn about the impacts of plastic production on humans, animals, communities, and the environment.
Community
Join a Cleanup Effort
I will host or participate in a beach, highway, river, or other cleanup effort in my community that follows the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.
Lifestyle
Clean Plate Club
When I need to replace my dish soap, I will switch to a bar or refillable option.
Food
Switch to Loose Leaf Tea
Because many tea bags and most sleeves and sachets contain plastic, I will switch to using loose leaf tea.
Lifestyle
Natural Fibers
When available, I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers.
Personal Care
Sustainable Suds
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and lotions with a sustainable, unpackaged, or refillable option.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Elizabeth Hann 7/06/2022 2:58 PMWorking with others to clean up a community makes me feel great. It’s cool to see the before and after. Today we removed 136lbs of trash and 22 tires from Pyne poynt park where families in the community go and hang out together. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodTake time to reflect or meditate over your plastic-free cup of tea. Share your thoughts and reflections with us here!
Elizabeth Hann 7/03/2022 5:45 AMThis year I am taking things from my garden to create my own loose tea. Rose petals, thyme, lemon balm, mint, chamomile, strawberry leaves, raspberry leaves are some things I am drying out for tea. Can’t wait to try some. -
