I went camping with friends, I told them we needed to go plastic free for this trip. We had 2 5-gallon water and filled our water bottles. We also brought our own utensils from home. The only thing we had in a plastic bottle was the coffee. For the oil, I used a glass container I had at home. Which I will save for my camping trip.

Good for you! It just takes one committed person to show others that it's possible. It's sad that people opt for plastic when camping since enjoying nature shouldn't also harm it in the process.

I've learned that plastic is everywhere and polluting even our bodies.

It's going great. I am very glad I joined the challenge as I have learned so much about plastics and that bioplastics are not the panacea I thought. I will keep educating myself, pass my new knowledge to my friends and family and practice what I've learned

Today in the New York Times I read an article about a man that is collecting grocery bags  & all other kinds of plastic to yarn. To make bags ..  look -up Single-Use Plastic Bags Get A Second Act.  By Jessica Iredale.   New York Times. 07/31/2022.    Turning a source of waste into totes.

I was nin the grocery store yesterday watching a man getting his goods nand bagged them in his own recycled bags.  It was then that I thought the stores & California should pay customers $0.10 for every bag used, just like your charged for grocery bags.

My mom lives in a senior  living place. They   waste so much paper, etc.
I called and asked if we could talk about ways they could  make some changes.
